The final draft of the West of England Joint Spatial Plan (JSP) is published for comment between 22nd November 2017 and 10th January 2018. The JSP sets out the overall approach and location of new development and will guide the review of each of the Council’s own local plans. If you wish to participate in the JSP Examination you should ensure you respond to this consultation.
Why are we consulting?
Residents, businesses, the development sector and other stakeholders have the opportunity between 22 November 2017 and 10 January 2018 to comment on the plan and make representations on its soundness. These comments and views will be passed on to the Planning Inspector who will assess the plan
What happens next:
The JSP will be examined in public by an Independent Planning Inspector, who will then make a report back to the local authorities, which may include proposed amendments. Once satisfied that the plan meets all planning rules and laws, the four councils must adopt the plan, giving it statutory authority. At that point the approved JSP would sit above and guide the review of the councils’ own Local Plans.
