My week began with a meeting with the Syrian Refugee Committee to discuss how we can continue to help some of those affected by the situation in Syria. The conflict has left thousands of people living in extremely difficult circumstances and we may be able to offer more of these people help and support in Bath & North East Somerset in the future.

This week I have attended a turf cutting event to mark the start of building work on the new Somerdale Educate Together Primary School, which is being developed by Taylor Wimpey in Keynsham. Once the building is complete it will provide 210 spaces for local children.
