Event Description:

Discover Bath’s fascinating scientific heritage as we take a walk around the city with real-life scientists!

How much do you know about the history of science in Bath? The city has a great cultural reputation but what about breakthroughs in astronomy, the science of pain, and dealing with the constant threat of flooding? On this very special one-off two hour promenade through the city, led by Olly, you will have the chance to meet a host of contemporary scientists from the University of Bath as they describe their own ground-breaking research and answer your questions in the landmarks that have played host to scientific innovation through the centuries.

Walking with Scientists is running as part of FUTURES, a series of free events taking place across Bath and Bristol, organised by the University of Bath, Bath Spa University and University of Bristol for European Researchers’ Night 2018. European Researchers’ Night is a programme funded by the European Commission with the aim of engaging the public in celebrating the latest and most innovative research at a local and an international level. FUTURES is one of over 300 events taking place in cities spanning 27 European countries.

Meet Olly for 7pm at the main entrance to Bath Abbey. This is a drop in event, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, but please register online via www.kiltertheatre.org/whats-on for more information and to keep up to date with any changes to the schedule.
