Bath & North East Somerset Council is saddened to learn of the death of Cllr Chris Pearce, who passed away on Monday 30 April.
Chris was elected as councillor for the Kingsmead ward in May 2015. He served as Vice-Chair on the Avon Pension Fund Committee and Chair of the Avon Pension Fund Investment Panel. He also served on the Bath City Forum.
Cllr Tim Warren, Leader of Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “Chris was a true gentleman and a devoted family man – he was well-liked by all who met him. Having retired from a successful career in investment banking, Chris made the move from London to Bath a few years back and settled in well. He was a remarkable man and full of energy – it’s almost a year to the day since he completed a walk from London to Bath.
“Chris brought his distinctive qualities to the Council and was passionate about serving the local community – with a particular commitment to delivering highways improvements to help make roads safer for residents. He will be sorely missed as a colleague and a friend.”
The Council expresses its deepest sympathy to Chris’s family and friends at this sad time.
