Country Living, Britain’s biggest-selling home interest magazine, is launching the first ever Country Living Festival and has chosen Bath as its home.  This exciting new event will 'bring the country to the city' from 11 - 13 May 2018, with Country Living magazine coming to life in interactive events taking place on streets and in squares throughout the city centre. In what is a unique collaboration, this will be the first time a magazine brand has agreed to partner on a major scale with a city and its key stakeholders.

The Festival will bring to life Country Living’s unique blend of country-style interiors, gardens, designers, practical advice, fashion and rural inspiration. At its heart will be a celebration of small rural businesses, talented crafts people, artisans and designers.

Bath will become a hub of creativity and rural inspiration with residents and visitors enjoying curated shopping, pop-up workshops, business events, supper clubs, celebrity talks, music, entertainment and an abundance of children’s activities spread throughout the streets and parks of the city. Producers, makers and designers from the West Country and beyond will be showcased in artisan markets, hands-on workshops and shopping events.

“With its crafting heritage and wealth of local talent, Bath is the perfect location to host our first Country Living Festival,” said Victoria Archbold, Director of Events and Sponsorship, Hearst UK. “This is by far our most ambitious project to date and will enable consumers to engage with the Country Living brand on an unprecedented level. By bringing the country to the city for four days, we hope to offer attendees an escapism from everyday life and make the festival an experience to truly remember.”

“We are delighted that Country Living has chosen our World Heritage Spa City for its first ever Festival next May,” said David James, Chief Executive of Visit Bath. “The Country Living brand has great synergy with Bath and the event will certainly be a draw for visitors as well as residents. It will also help boost the local economy and put Bath in the national spotlight as a stylish destination.”

"We look forward to showcasing our great city. Bath has a great sense of community with unrivalled quality of life, accessibility and fantastic business opportunities. The Country Living Festival gives everyone the chance to experience everything Bath has to offer and more,” said Louise Prynne Chief Executive Bath Business Improvement District Company.

“It’s a huge honour to welcome the Country Living Festival to Bath,” added Councillor Bob Goodman, Cabinet Member for Development. “This is a great opportunity to showcase our wonderful connection with the countryside and to work with our partners, Bath BID and Visit Bath, to make this a memorable occasion for everyone to enjoy.”
