What is the Clean Air Zone?
Several areas in Bath currently suffer from unacceptable levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO2). The Clean Air Zone aims to reduce these harmful levels of NO2 because of the role that poor air quality plays in damaging health.
Drivers of non-compliant vehicles must pay a charge to drive through the zone.
How does it work?
Daily charges apply 24 hours a day (midnight to midnight), 7 days a week, all year round when entering or driving in Bath’s Clean Air Zone.
You can pay up to 6 days in advance, on the day the vehicle is driven in the zone, or in the following 6 days.
Who needs to pay the Clean Air Zone charge?
If you drive a private car or motorbike you do not need to pay the charge
Horseboxes, commercial vehicles, motorhomes and some campers may need to pay.
