Eating well is crucial to maintaining good health or to help you recover from an illness. Are you finding it hard to prepare or buy healthy and nutritious meals? This may be due to a physical disability or long term health condition, a learning disability, sight and/or hearing loss or because you are getting older.

There are various ways you can access healthy food either through community meals, lunch clubs or by a care worker helping you with food at home.

Yes. Community meals are available to all residents in Bath & North East Somerset. Download a leaflet about community meals here.

Community meals are a hot main course and a dessert at a cost of £4.25. There is also an option to have an afternoon tea delivered at a cost of £2.10. You will be invoiced at the end of each month.

If you already know that you are eligible for care and support then you may also be eligible for help to pay for your community meals. Talk to your social care worker about this.

Yes. If you are finding it difficult to buy and prepare food then it may be part of your care and support plan to have someone cook for you.

There are a range of lunch clubs around Bath and North East Somerset. These are run by community groups and offer a chance to socialise as well as have a delicious and healthy meal.
