Bath and North East Somerset is responsible for a wide range of services for children, young people, their families and schools, including education for all ages, social care, youth support, education welfare, children’s centres, special educational needs and children with disabilities. We have a special responsibility for children and young people in care and those at risk. We also plan and commission children's health services on behalf of the CCG, including school nurses, health visitors and mental health services. We want the best for every child and young person, to help them to stay safe, be healthy and enjoy equal life chances.

There are currently over 36,000 children and young people in our area, and we can only achieve our vision by working closely with other organisations in the statutory, voluntary, community and faith sectors who also support children and young people and their families.
