The Local Studies Reference Collection, which comprises local history reference materials, has moved from Bath Central Library to join the Council’s archives held at Bath Record Office in the Guildhall.

In the strongrooms there are over three kilometres of shelving, filled with records dating from 1189, the time of Richard the Lionheart, to the present day.
Bath Record Office supports research into the past and present by making information available to the public.
