Please note that Bath Record Office will be closed from Friday 14 April - Monday 5 June 2017 inclusive. This is to carry out redecoration and prepare the office for incorporating the Local Studies Reference Collection from Bath Central Library. Read more.
We will be answering email and telephone enquiries, but there will be no access to the public research rooms during the period of redecoration. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause, but look forward to welcoming you back to the improved Archives & Local Studies services with all of the area’s local history resources under one roof on Tuesday 6 June.
In the strongrooms there are over three kilometres of shelving, filled with records dating from 1189, the time of Richard the Lionheart, to the present day.
Bath Record Office supports research into the past and present by making information available to the public.
All who wish to use this wonderful resource are welcome, and staff are happy to give you help and advice with your research.
