William Monachino-Ayres, is a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice for our Regeneration Team. Will gets stuck into everything the team does and his day is a blend of supporting other team members and running his own projects.

Will doesn’t really have a typical day and in supporting the Water Space Project team he organises events and activities for the community; gives presentations on the project to partners and produces information about the project. Will also supports other Regeneration Projects, notably helping arrange and conduct the Keynsham High Street survey to get feedback from residents, businesses and visitors on the new one-way traffic system. This involved both talking directly to survey respondents and being responsible for making sure their views were captured and heard in the process.

Check out Wessex Water's video of the Yellow Fish Water Pollution Action Awareness event where Will galvanised volunteers to get involved in protecting our waterways.

We are grateful for things that Will takes for granted: he is a digital whizz with a flair for social media, content creation, design software and a speciality in infographics. It saves us needing to send one of the team on expensive training courses or learning (slowly) on-the-job ourselves.

Will is keen to make the most of the opportunity he has been given and values the investment in his career development; “Every day brings a new challenge forcing me to push myself and work to my full potential. This is perfectly balanced with the support I receive from my friendly and always happy to help colleagues. The whole experience so far has been fantastic and I’m very glad I made the decision to do an apprenticeship with the Council.”

Will’s apprenticeship lasts for around 18 months but we are certainly keen to see him employed with the Council for much longer.
