What is SMARTRISK Heroes?

SMARTRISK Heroes is like nothing you have experienced before. It takes you on an emotional journey, highlighting the risks we all take in our daily life and demonstrates how we can all take a smart risk.

The show is about developing peoples own skills to recognise and manage risks so that they can keep taking smart risks for the rest of their lives.

5 Steps to a SMART RISK

  • Buckle Up
  • Look First
  • Wear the Gear
  • Get Trained
  • Drive Sober

A SMARTRISK Hero - Georgina Hurst

Georgina suffered a broken neck after the driver of a car she was a passenger in drove dangerously fast, causing it to lose control and crash into an oncoming vehicle.

After being told she would never walk again, Georgina has shown strong determination to walk with the aid of crutches and last year realised her dream of walking down the aisle as her brother’s bridesmaid.

Georgina raised £5000 from a sponsored walk in 2006 and works with SMARTRISK, speaking to young people about her injury and how it could have been prevented.  She said: “I’m thoroughly enjoying my work with SMARTRISK and if I can make just one person sit up and take notice it may be one life saved”.
