On the 1st March 2017 the DfT invited Highway Authorities to bid for a share of the £75 million Tranche 2A Highway Maintenance Challenge Fund allocation.  Working with Bristol City Council, Bath & North East Somerset have submitted a joint bid to undertake road maintenance improvements on the A4 Keynsham Bypass,  the A4 Bath Road and the A4174 linking to new South Bristol Link Road and Bristol Airport.

The bid was submitted by the deadline of Friday 31st March 2017.
