What are we consulting on?

We are consulting on specific actions within the Procurement and Commissioning Strategy that relate to the suppliers and the business community in Bath & North East Somerset.    

Who are we consulting and why?

We are consulting the business community in Bath and North East Somerset, whether they are existing or potential suppliers. 

We are consulting this community because it will ensure that local businesses and organisations are aware of our procurement aspirations. They will have the opportunity to respond to the key objectives or individual actions within the Strategy that affect them. 

The consultation is also open to residents and any other interested parties, and offers a chance to learn about, and comment on, the work we are doing to spend public money for the public good.

How to take part

To take part in our consultation, please complete our online questionnaire by 27 October 2021. This will give you an opportunity to respond to our proposals, and to make your own suggestions. Below is the Strategy, which we are asking you to comment on, and supporting documents, which you can't comment on, but you may want to read to help you to understand the Strategy.

What happens next?

We will use the feedback you provide to shape how we work with suppliers, the delivery of further engagement sessions and development of guidance, and how we approach sustainability and net zero issues internally within our procurement activities.

We will publish a feedback report on this website within six weeks of the end of the consultation, including the following:

• Common themes or concerns, and how we plan to respond to them
• How your feedback will inform our future procurement work with businesses
• How we plan to engage with businesses in the future
