We are asking for your views on the outline planning application for Bath Western Riverside phase 2 (BWR phase 2), a proposed residential development on part of the former gasworks site in Bath.
We have submitted an outline planning application to the Local Planning Authority for determination. You can view the application on the B&NES Planning Register (Planning Reference: 23/01762/EREG03).
What we are consulting on
The outline planning application seeks agreement on road and footpath access, housing numbers, building heights, landscaping and drainage plans.
An outline planning application provides less detail than a full planning application. Its purpose is to establish whether a proposed development is acceptable in principle.
If outline planning permission is granted, we will submit a reserved matters application. This will fully detail the following:
- the layout of the scheme
- scale, size and heights of buildings
- external appearance
- landscaping detail

What happens next
All comments made on a planning application are part of a statutory public process, and will remain available to view by the public, even after the Planning Application process is complete.
When the consultation closes, we will review the responses. We will consider your feedback, and will include it in the final version of the Statement of Community Involvement. The Local Planning Authority will review the outline planning application and comments, and the Planning Committee will then make a final decision on whether to approve the outline planning application.
