To administer National Non Domestic Rates (NNDR or Business Rates) within the Bath and North East Somerset area under s.35 (2) of the Local Government Act 1988. This includes the calculation, billing and collection of business rates

How is it used?
Determine who is liable to pay business rates and for what periods
Administer, collect, recover and enforce payment of business rates.
Check if you are eligible for any reliefs or exemptions when calculating the business rates liability.
Comply with legal obligations, for example the prevention and/or detection of crime including fraud.
Contact with you regarding matters that may affect your business rates or statutory obligations and changes that the Council is subject to that may have an impact on your business

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?
In some instances the amount of Business Rates that are payable can change. Consequently, in order that we are able to reflect these changes and accurately bill accounts we keep all records available to us.
