The purpose of processing
We use this information to enable people to make an application to the Council for a mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant under the Housing Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996. We may also help people access additional funding toward grant-eligible work when the maximum grant allowable is insufficient to cover all the cost.

How is it used?
To confirm eligibility for the DFG application and ensure we have all the information for a valid application from the client. To assess if it is reasonable and practical for the works to be carried out with grant funding.

This falls under the Housing Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996 - Councils have a duty to deliver Disabled Facilities Grants to eligible applicants in their area when they are in receipt of a valid application.

Sharing of personal data with External Recipients
We will provide them with contact details and the contact details of any friend or relative helping with the application. We may pass on some basic medical information to help the builder help the applicant/disabled person. We may share relevant details about the case with Wessex Resolutions CIC www.wessexresolutions.org.uk if an applicant is applying for a loan from them to top-up the Disabled Facilities Grant. We may share relevant details about the application with the landlord of the property where the property is rented, as we will aim to ask for consent for the works from the landlord on the applicant’s behalf.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?
Personal data will only be retained for as long as it is needed for the purpose specified above, or as required by applicable law or regulatory requirements.
