B&NES Economic Strategy 2024 to 2034
B&NES Economic Strategy 2024 to 2034
Details
Developed between November 2022 and September 2023, this strategy is built upon the wealth of data contained in the Council’s Strategic Evidence Base and has been informed by consultation with our partners, businesses and residents to ensure our focus is directed on the challenges and opportunities which matter most.
This Economic Strategy provides a ten year vision for B&NES to 2034, and will sit alongside the Council’s newly adopted Corporate Strategy 2023-2027, the Climate Emergency Strategy, theEcological Emergency Action Plan and the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy to form the core suite of documents that set out the outcomes we are looking to achieve.
Future Ambition Board
The anchor institutions within B&NES have come together to work through the Future Ambition Board and other stand-alone initiatives to deliver on this commitment. The Future Ambition Board is a voluntary partnership that has developed through and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic based on co-creating and realising a shared vision for the region. Business and Skills Plan
The Business and Skills plan is a key implementation method for a number of the core priorities of the Economic Strategy. The Economic Strategy sets out six pillars which form the main ambitions for the strategy.
The pillars which the Business and Skills plan will deliver against are:
- Pillar 2 - Good Work, and for relevant objectives in Pillar 3 – Resilient Business and Pillar 4 - Inclusive innovation.
- A number of additional objectives and priorities which have been determined based on other key documents (such as corporate strategy), local engagement and known challenges within the area, as well as regional strategic objectives that correlate with local data.
These align with the Business and Skills team’s core function to deliver sustainable, inclusive growth, enabling residents and businesses to meet their full economic potential in our district.
