If you're applying due to low family income, you may need to supply evidence to show benefits that you are receiving, or eligible for.

If your child is eligible for free school meals, we already have the evidence we need, and you don't need to supply any more.

Before you apply, make sure you have a photograph, scan or mobile screen shot to show that you are eligible for any of the following benefits:

• Working Tax Credit
• Child Tax Credit
• Pension Credit
• Universal Credit
• Asylum Seeker Support

You'll need a letter confirming your claim, if you have recently applied for Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance.
