This Foundation awards small to large grants (2024: £3,940 to £100,000) to charitable organisations working in the UK and/or overseas to protect the marine environment.
The aim of the Ocean Family Foundation is that the rich biodiversity of the world’s largest and most important wilderness, the ocean, may be protected and thrive for generations to come.
The Foundation funds and actively supports a variety of sustainable marine conservation programmes. Its charitable objectives are:
- To undertake and promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection, improvement and ecologically sustainable management of the marine environment including associated land, shoreline and structures, and
- To advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection, improvement and ecologically sustainable management of the marine environment including associated land, shoreline and structures.
