Age Without Limits Day: Micro Grants for Community Groups

Small grants of up to £500 are available to UK community groups and local voluntary organisations for creative ways to celebrate ageing and challenge ageism.

The Centre for Ageing Better has announced that its Age Without Limits Day: Micro-Grants for Community Groups are available again for community groups and local voluntary sector organisations within Age-friendly Communities to take part in the Age Without Limits Day on Wednesday 11 June 2025.

For 2025 the theme for the day is "Celebrate Ageing. Challenge Ageism".  Grants are available for creative ways of marking the day that work for you and your community. Last year’s Age Without Limits Day saw fashion shows, podcast launches, volunteer awards, photography competitions and much more.

If you are struggling for ideas, please read this blog which showcases previous events and activities hosted for the action day and visit the Age Without Limits website for more information and examples of hosting an event.

Grants of up to £500 are available, with an additional £150 to cover anything needed to make an event or activity more accessible.

The grant is available to community groups and local voluntary sector organisations.  The opportunity to apply for these grants is a member benefit for communities who are part of the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities.  You can find out if your community is a member and therefore whether you are eligible to apply on this map.  (Bath and North East Somerset and Bristol are eligible).

Groups may already have a specific focus on older people or might be using the action day as a new opportunity to engage with the issue of ageism.  Applications from both are encouraged.

The deadline to apply for a micro-grant is 5pm on Monday 10 February 2025.

For more information on eligibility and assessment criteria please read the Information Document on the Age Without Limits Day website.
