If you want to show, demonstrate or perform a hypnotism act in public, you will need a hypnotism permit.
Before you apply
You need to read and understand the requirements set out on this page before you submit an application for a licence. We cannot proceed with your application unless you give us all the information we need.
Your application must include the following details:
- your name and address
- details of previous performance
- details of any proposed future performances
Fees and prices
The table below shows the fees and charges for hypnotism permits:

The application fee will be charged at the time of your application. The maintenance fee will be charged prior to the issue of your permit.
Duration
We will grant all hypnotism permits for the duration of the performance or demonstration, unless we state otherwise.

We will inform the police of your application and they may wish to contact you should they have any concerns.
There is no consultation process with this application.
We aim to determine your application within 60 days.
Tacit consent applies. If you have not heard from us within 60 days, you will be able to act as though your permit has been granted.

We may attach conditions to the permit. These will be sent to you with your permit.
If you want to make a complaint about a person operating without a hynotism permit, please report this to us using our online form.
