We have been working to enhance and better manage Kensington Meadows as a space for everyone, as part of our improvement project for the park.

Completed improvements
We have already made many improvements to Kensington Meadows, including:
- Planting a variety of trees, flowering bulbs and wildflowers
- Installing new benches, picnic/BBQ tables and BBQ bins
- Improving access to the riverside walk by rebuilding the steps near the Grosvenor Bridge entrance
- Upgrading access points from Meadows Lane, Morrisons Supermarket and Grosvenor Bridge with new signs, removal of old fencing and measures to reduce mud
- Creating new wildflower meadows by working with the Bathscape Partnership and local volunteers
We initially proposed to open the entrance from Ringswell Gardens as part of this project. However, we have decided not to proceed with this change at this time, following feedback from neighbouring residents.
Future improvements
We have worked with the London Road Partnership and Friends of Kensington Meadows to plan future improvements. The partnership has secured a £10,000 grant from the government's Pocket Parks programme to fund play area improvements.
We plan to upgrade the play area with a focus on natural play. We will add a new wooden climbing frame and slide, play mounds with balance beams, a willow tunnel and an agility trail.
Away from the play area, we will install new junior football goals and a monolith holed stone with a new bench.
Unfortunately, the embankment slide no longer meets play safety standards and we will remove this as part of this work. We will provide a new slide as part of the new climbing unit.
