Use this page to learn about Stage 2 of our public engagement in the development of our Local Plan 2022 to 42: targeted engagement.
What we did
We held workshops with community representatives and key stakeholders in January to March 2023. These sessions were organised by area, and the aim was to talk to local people, to gather information on the most important issues and priorities for stakeholders and communities in that part of the district. You can read in more detail about these sessions in the following reports:
- Bath and surrounding areas
- Keynsham
- Hicks Gate (Keynsham and Saltford)
- Whitchurch Village
- Somer Valley
- Rural areas of the district
During the same period, we also undertook engagement sessions with people from seldom-heard groups at a variety of locations around the area. These are groups who have historically been less represented among respondents to other forms of public consultation: children and young people, people with disabilities or additional needs, people from ethnic minorities, lower income groups, older residents, young parents and young professionals.
Our Seldom-heard Group Engagement Report gives a summary of the key issues and priorities raised at each of these sessions.
How we're using this information
We have extracted the key issues, priorities and recommendations from each of the engagement sessions, and are creating a document setting out how we will consider each key issue during the preparation of the Local Plan. Where issues came up that were not related to the Local Plan related, we have forwarded details to the relevant Council department which can address them.
