The Milsom Quarter Masterplan was adopted into the Local Plan in 2023, following a public consultation in 2022.
The Milsom Quarter Masterplan seeks to create a destination for fashion and creativity in the South West. The masterplan will be delivered over a 50 year period and will bring a new Fashion Museum to the Old Post Office building, improved streets and spaces, a new residential neighbourhood and more creative workspaces and retailers.
After finalising the Masterplan following the community feedback, grant funding was unlocked to take the designs for some projects further.
The three key projects in development are:
- design and development of a new Bath Fashion Museum at the Old Post Office.
- design and development of improved streets and public spaces within the Milsom Quarter.
- design and feasibility of creative workspaces at Broad Street Yards, on the site of Broad Street car park.
A public engagement on these developing design ideas was undertaken in 2024.
Following the feedback from the public engagement, the design ideas are now being developed towards submission of full business cases for funding to deliver the projects.
