Owing to the processing of our annual billing for 2025-26, our system will be unavailable on 20, 21, 27 and 28 February 2025.

The Council Tax, Business Rates and Debt Recovery phone lines will be closed on these days. Our online account management service will also be unavailable.

To ensure our Council Tax records are accurate, we need to know about changes of address.

Moving into, out of, or within B&NES

If you are moving into, out of, or within Bath and North East Somerset, or have bought a property in Bath and North East Somerset as a second home, the quickest and easiest way to inform us of a change of address is to do it online.

Tell us about a change to your household

You can also tell us about a change in household online if you are:

• moving into or out of a house of multiple occupancy (HMO)
• a landlord reporting a change in tenancy
• informing us of a move on behalf a third party
• leaving a household where you were not named on the Council Tax bill

If you receive Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support

If you are currently in receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support and you are moving or planning to move, then the best way to tell us is to use our online form.
 

Student households

If you have moved into, or within, Bath and North East Somerset to take a course of study, you may be able to apply for a Council Tax exemption. The quickest and easiest way to do this is to apply online.
