Grants of between £250 and £20,000 for projects that will help mitigate the impact(s) of the construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station. Please note, this funding is not available to projects in Bath and North East Somerset.
Projects that improve the social, economic or environmental wellbeing of communities who are affected by the construction works are likely to be prioritised for grant support (for example, the communities of and around Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and the surrounding villages that have been significantly impacted by the construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station to date). Construction is expected to continue until at least 2027.
The following grants are available:
- For projects that last for up to a year, the maximum grant is £10,000.
- For projects that continue for 3 years, the maximum grant is £20,000.
Grants can be used for such things as (please note that this is not an exclusive list):
- Buying equipment or materials.
- Hiring venues or to pay for other rental costs.
- Paying staff time or volunteer expenses, and/or
- Refurbishing buildings.
