Grants of between £250 and £1,000 are available for UK registered charities, institutions, colleges and schools, people who are unwaged, professionals and students for projects anywhere in the world providing applicants meet the following criteria:
- They are a UK Citizen (for instance, a holder of a British passport) or a passport holder resident or in employment in the UK for a minimum of 2 years.
- They are students enrolled on a UK environmental course of a minimum 2-year duration, or
- They are a UK institution, school, or registered charity.
Grants can be used for such things as project materials and/or travel arrangements, accommodation and food.
Project proposals will be expected to demonstrate a drive to make a positive impact on the environment anywhere in the world by furthering the environmental profession and/or raising awareness of environmental issues.
Examples of possible projects include (please note that this is not an exclusive list):
- A community tree planting initiative
- Conference attendance and participation
- Environmental projects and learning opportunities
- Expeditions for environmental learning
- Research
- Study- a course relevant to an environmental career
- Study tours to learn more about the environmental profession or sustainable development, and
- Voluntary work placements
