Grants up to £10,000 are available for charities and community organisations that are making a significant contribution to their local community.
Following successful schemes in 2022 and 2023, food retailer SPAR has launched a third annual round of its £100,000 Community Cashback scheme, giving away up to 30 grants to local voluntary or community organisations and charities across the UK.
Shoppers aged 16 and over from all over the UK can apply for a grant for an organisation or charity they feel deserves funding. All applicants need to do is share the contribution that a local organisation has made to their community and what the grant would be put towards.
It’s not essential to be in an area where SPAR has a retail outlet. However, a store locator is available on the SPAR website.
The total grants budget available for distribution, as in previous years, is £100,000. Chances of successfully being awarded a grant are likely to be small. In 2023, SPAR’s Community Cashback scheme attracted more than 13,000 entries for the 30 awards available.
Please note that grants cannot be awarded to the following:
- Commercial, profit-making organisations.
- Community Interest Companies with guarantee that are less than 2 years old.
- Community Interest Companies with shares (CICs), or
- Individuals.
Successful candidates are expected to be notified by Tuesday 14 June 2024.
Further information, guidance and an online nomination form can be found on the SPAR website.
