The Poundland Foundation Kits for Kids Grant Programme, which has just reopened to application, offers grants of up to £750 to sports clubs, local charities, community organisations and Community Interest Companies for local children’s sports kits and sports clothing across the UK.
Applications from the most deprived areas in the UK will be prioritised for grant support. Applying organisations must work with children and young people aged 18 and under.
The Kits for Kids programme aims to help as many children as possible to be active and enjoy sports by providing them with the right clothing to enable their participation. Local sports clubs and organisations working with children may apply for a grant to provide kit for local children’s sports teams.
Kits for Kids focus is based in part on Sport England's research which has shown that the proportion of children taking part in physical activity for an hour or more dropped from 47% to 19% during the first COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
Please note that applying organisations must:
- A have child protection and safeguarding policies that can be evidenced in their application, and
- Have an income of under £10,000 and hold reserves of under £5,000.
Applications are not eligible from profit-making organisations or schools.
