The Hays Travel Foundation

Grants, generally for under £6,000, are available to registered charities to help disadvantaged young people aged up to 25 in areas where the nationwide travel agent Hays Travel operates.

Hays Travel has 180 branches across the UK.  A branch locator can be found on the Hays Travel website.  There is one in Keynsham.

Charities that are not located in an area where Hays Travel operates will be expected to provide evidence of how their project impacts a community in which Hays Travel has a presence.

Eligible organisations must be working to help children and young people aged up to 25 years in at least one of the following areas:

  • Arts and culture
  • Education
  • The prevention of poverty
  • Health, and/or
  • Sports

Registered charities may apply for a grant of between £2,000 and £15,000, although the vast majority of grants made are for less than £6,000. The average award last year was for around £4,000.

There is a match funding incentive for this programme.  Applicants that can demonstrate that they have raised funding towards their project are more likely to secure a grant.

Further information, guidance and an online application form is available on the Foundation’s website.
