Grants of up to £4,000 are available for grassroots community organisations, including sports clubs and social enterprises across the UK to deliver sports activities in communities in which participating Greene King sites are located.
Shortly after closing its 2023 Proud to Pitch In grant programme towards the end of 2023, Greene King relaunched the programme for 2024 with a total budget of £360,000.
The Proud to Pitch In initiative is provided and administered by Greene King IPA using funding raised through the sale of Greene King ale in local pubs, online and in-store.
The Fund's overarching objective is to support and promote grassroots sport within local communities across the UK. It aims to achieve this by enabling people and projects to run sports activities that positively impact on their community. Project beneficiaries must be aged 18 or over.
Please note that this scheme is available to sports clubs operating in areas local to a participating Greene King sites. Details of which Greene King sites are taking part in the Fund can be found under the 'Participating Sites' heading on the Greene King website (scroll down to the foot of the page). It includes pubs in Bath, Farmborough and Keynsham.
Grants of up to £4,000 are available with no matched funding requirement.
Grants can be used to cover costs associated with delivering activities in local communities, such as equipment, tools, and other materials. Previous awards have been used for refereeing courses, coaching qualifications, renovating a clubhouse, equipment and to purchase team kits.
Further information, guidance notes and the online nomination form are available on the Greene King website.
If you’d like any advice on how to apply, ActionFunder runs regular online drop in sessions, at 12.30 on the last Thursday of every month.
Successful projects are expected to be announced within one month of the closing date of Friday 1 November 2024.
