Up to 6 grants are available for UK registered charities or Community Interest Companies with an annual income of £250,000 or over of for UK organisations who are supporting young people aged 11-25 in the UK with disordered eating, families of a child with an eating disorder, or step-down services.
In partnership with the Stone Family Foundation, the Prudence Trust is also currently inviting applications to its Supporting Children and Young People with Disordered Eating programme.
This is a one-off funding opportunity for organisations who support young people (aged 11-25) in the UK with disordered eating, families of a child with an eating disorder, or step-down services which provide a full and comprehensive recovery focused rehabilitation programme for service users.
The Trust will only consider applications from organisations who meet the following 3 criteria:
- UK registered charities or CICs with an annual income of £250,000 or over.
- The charity or CIC must offer an eating disorder service in the UK for children or young people (aged 11-25), or their families, which is delivered by specially trained staff, and
- The organisation must be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering high quality eating disorder services for at least 3 years (although proposals can be for a new service).
Applications are invited for the support of existing services, or new services if the applying organisation already has a track record in eating disorder support. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the positive impact of your support on individuals. The service applied for should expect to reach at least 50 children, young people or families each year.
The Trust is particularly interested in services that complement – rather than duplicate – either end of statutory provision, such as early intervention services or step-down support after a young person has been discharged from an NHS service, as well as training or support for parents and families of these children and young people.
The total grants budget for this one-off opportunity is £750,000. The Trust expects to award up to 6 grants of various sizes from this budget. Applicants should not request a grant that is more than 20% of their annual income.
Some examples of how a grant can be used include (please note that this is not an exclusive list):
- Cost of delivering support groups.
- Creation or printing of resources to complement the services you are delivering.
- Room hire for therapy sessions or support groups.
- Salaries for staff who deliver therapy sessions to children, young people and their families, and
- Specialist training for staff, including refresher courses, training to develop new skills or enable them to work with children and young people.
There is a 2-stage application process for the Fund, consisting of:
Stage 1 - brief applications through the Trust’s website until 2pm on Monday 2 September 2024.
Stage 2 – a long list of applicants will be invited to apply to the Stage 2 Full Application by 2pm on Monday 14 October 2024.
The Trust will arrange an online meeting in November to discuss Stage 2 applications.
