Revenue grants averaging £3,000 are available to UK registered charities working in the areas of art, music, entertainment, nature, conservation, civil society, education, medical research, care, hospices and religion.
The G C Gibson Charitable Trust offers grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 to a wide range of charities. The trustees are all highly involved in various philanthropic activities and priority for support is given to charities that the trustees have previously worked with. However, the Trust adds a few new charities each year.
For these new applications, the Trust now focuses on a particular theme for projects which it changes from year to year. The current focus is on capital or product purchases for smaller UK registered charities (ie those with an income of under £1 million) in the areas of:
- Education.
- Social inclusion, and
- Physical and mental health.
The Trust has committed to awarding 10 grants of up to £5,000 for UK charities working in the above areas. Projects should have a maximum cost of about £20,000. This means that the Trust is unlikely to offer a small contribution to a large project.
Application is via the online application form available on the Trust’s website (scroll down the page to the 'How to Apply' heading).
They have an annual deadline for applications which this year is Monday 30 September 2024.
