Unrestricted grants of between £300 and £2,000 are available for small, local organisations in England who are making a positive difference in their communities.
The Federation of Groundwork Trust’s Grassroots Grants programme provides unrestricted funding of between £500 and £2,000 for small, local organisations in England with an annual income of less than £60,000 in their last financial year who are making a positive difference in their communities. Please note that applicants with an income of under £50,000, working in deprived areas and supporting communities classed as marginalised or vulnerable will be prioritised.
The aim of the Fund is to support groups that provide vital services in their local communities such as:
- Access to food or basic essentials.
- Improvements to local green spaces.
- Cultural, wellbeing or supportive activities, and
- Volunteering opportunities to improve the local environment or support other people.
Funding can be used for core organisational costs that support the important work organisations deliver in their communities. The funding offered is unrestricted and therefore flexible. It can be used where it is most needed, including engaging a consultant to help develop an organisation and its key policies.
Applicants working in areas categorised as with the 15% most deprived in England according to the Indices of Multiple Deprivation are likely to be prioritised for grant support. A mapping resource showing the areas of Multiple Deprivation in England can be found on the GOV.UK website.
Further information, guidance, an example application form and an online application form can be found on the Federation of Groundwork Trusts website.
The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Monday 30th September 2024.
