AbbVie Limited provides grants to organisations and charitable institutions in the UK healthcare sector in the areas of:
- Community-based projects
- Health
- Learning
- Science
AbbVie grants vary in size and do not have a minimum or maximum level. Grants can be used to support a diversity of projects.
The following types of organisation may apply for grant support:
- Charitable Institutions: any not-for-profit institution which does not fulfil the definition of a healthcare organisation.
- Healthcare organisations: healthcare, medical or scientific associations or organisations such as a hospital, clinic, foundation, university or other teaching institution or learned society whose business address, place of incorporation or primary place of operation is in Europe or an organisation through which one or more health professionals or other relevant decision-makers provide services.
Project proposals from healthcare organisations must be able to demonstrate how the funding will either advance medical education or science, or contribute to improvements in the quality of healthcare/patient care.
Further information, guidance and a downloadable application form is available on the AbbVie website.
While applications may be made at any time, AbbVie only considers requests for grant support between February and October each year. Applications received outside of this window (ie between the start of November and the end of January) are taken forward to the following February.
