The Paul Strank Charitable Trust

A limited number of grants are available to UK charities and individuals to help alleviate poverty and disadvantage, particularly among young people.  Although the Trust will fund across the UK, it has a preference for supporting causes in the Merton and Wimbledon areas of London.

The Paul Strank Charitable Trust is a family-based grant-making trust with close ties to Paul Strank Roofing Ltd, which trades out of Wimbledon, SW19.  Its trustees are currently Irene Strank, Paul Strank MBE and Thomas Price.

The Trust has determined that its priorities for funding will be:

  • Young people.
  • People facing hardship and the public, and, in particular,
  • The relief of need, hardship, sickness, handicap, and distress and amongst and/or disadvantaged persons.

The Trust will consider written applications from the London Borough of Merton and the wider UK and consideration will be given to all applications which could further its objectives.

The Trust makes grants to a wide range of organisations but are especially keen to help grassroots community groups and small-to-medium-sized voluntary organisations.

The Trust will also make grants to individuals, applications from which are assessed on a case-by-case basis.  It will work in partnership with other organisations to fund initiatives beyond the financial scope of a single organisation to provide grants, items and services to individuals in need and charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

Please note that the Trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.

The Trustees will not normally approve the use of the Charity's funds for purposes for which the government has a statutory responsibility to provide.
