Planning policy archive documents
These are archive documents only. We used these documents in the determination of planning applications, until January 2023. To examine the current current core local planning policy, view our Development Plan page
'Placemaking' is a planning and economic development strategy which places the community's public amenities, such as parks, streets and squares, at the centre of future development plans. It aims to work together with local people, to create public places which are good for people's health, happiness and well-being.
The Core Strategy and Placemaking Plan are important documents that put in place a strategic planning framework to guide development in our region. For ease of use, we have combined the Core Strategy (2014) and the Placemaking Plan (2017) into a single set of documents.
