We have prepared a comprehensive transport assessment which considers the impact of the development at key locations, in particular, the A362 between Farrington Gurney and Radstock, and some of the larger roads which join it.
The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) is also investigating improvements to the transport network as part of its City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) project, which is examining the Somer Valley to Bristol and Bath transport Package. We are working closely with WECA to understand the improvements this will bring and how it will benefit the Enterprise Zone.
Work done so far
This part of the project is ongoing, and we will update our reports on this as the scheme progresses. We have completed the following research stages so far:
- Collection of traffic data for the study area. This was undertaken during November 2021.
- Site visits and reviews of other transport data.
- Engagement with stakeholders and experts, including our own and Somerset County Council Highways Authorities, and Design West, to hear and include their input
- Consideration of site accessibility by bicycle, on foot, by car, by bus, and for HGVs
