Street naming public notices

Notices under Public Health Act 1925 advertising proposed names for new streets.

These are published here on a non-statutory basis to supplement the statutory publication on site. Proposed names for streets in Bath will already have been approved by Bath City Forum and, outside Bath by the town or parish council for the street.

Naming of a new street in Midsomer Norton

Notice is hereby given that on or after 1 February 2021, Bath and North East Somerset Council will make an order (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Order’) under Section 18 of the Public Health Act 1925. The effect of the Order will be to name new road indicated on the attached plan 'Brewery Court'. Any person aggrieved by the intended order may within 21 days after the date of this notice appeal to Bath and Wansdyke Magistrates’ Court at North Parade Road, Bath, BA1 5AF.

Please note, these are not consultations and you should not respond to the Council with any objections.
Your statutory rights
Section 18 Public Health Act 1925 provides that if you wish to object, you must do so to Bath Magistrates Court. The court will forward your objection to us and the council will then consider if it should modify its position. If you are not happy with our response, you may then pay the court fee to go to a hearing in front of the magistrates. Please contact the court to find out the current fee.
