Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

  • A road closure to motor vehicles and cyclists in that length of Beau Street, City Centre, Bath at its junction with Stall Street extending west for approximately 10 metres.
  • Suspend all parking to vehicles in that length of Beau Street, City Centre, Bath at its junction with Stall Street extending west for approximately 10 metres.
  • A temporary suspension of the one-way restriction along Beau Street from its junction with Bilbury Lane extending east up to the road closure point, to allow two-way traffic.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road for investigative works to identify location and depths of cellars and utility pipes and cables to inform the design of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation equipment by Bath and North East Somerset Council from the 14th October 2024 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for SIX WEEKS.

Closure will only be live when signs and marshals are in position.

Alternative route: Stall Street – Bath Street – Hot Bath Street – Lower Borough Walls – Bilbury Lane – Beau Street
