Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:
•Close temporarily to cyclists, horse riders and motor vehicles and to suspend all parking to vehicles to include blue badge holders, in that length of Milsom Street from its junction with George Street extending south to its junction Quiet Street. USRN: 47900065.
•Close temporarily to cyclists, horse riders and motor vehicles and to suspend all parking to vehicles to include blue badge holders, in that length of George Street from its junction with Gay Street extending east to its junction with Lansdown Road. USRN: 47900004.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Bath & North East Somerset Council to carry out footway improvement and carriageway resurfacing works on the 3rd February 2025 for a maximum period of 12 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for SEVEN WEEKS.
George Street closure is anticipated to be for 1 night between 22:00 – 05:00hrs.
Milsom Street closure is anticipated to be for 7 weeks between 10:00 – 18:00hrs.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Milsom Street (cyclists only): George Street – Gay Street – Old King Street – John Street – Quiet Street – New Bond Street.
George Street (Westbound): London Street – Walcot Street – Northgate Street – Bridge Street – Grand Parade – Pierrepont Street – Manvers Street – Dorchester Street – Broad Quay – Ambury – Corn Street – Green Park Road – Charles Street – Chapel Row – Queen Square.
George Street (Eastbound): Queen Square – Chapel Row – Charles Street – Green Park Road – Corn Street – St James’s Parade – Southgate Street – Dorchester Street – Manvers Street – Pierrepont Street – Orange Grove – High Street – Northgate Street – Broad Street.
