Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:

• Temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Queen Square, City Centre, Bath from its junction with Old King Street extending south and west to its junction with A367 Chapel Row. USRN: 47913606.

• Traffic heading northbound on A367 Chapel Row will be able to travel via Queen Square in order to access Charlotte Street or Gay Street/George Street.

• Traffic heading Southbound on A4 London Road will not be able to travel via Queen Square and will need to follow the diversion via Walcot Street.

• Old King Street will still be accessible from Queen Square.

 

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable National Grid to carry out installation works to a new electricity sub-station on the 10th March 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for ONE NIGHT between 01:00am – 04:00am.
