Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Tucking Mill Lane, Monkton Combe from its junction with Summer Lane/Church Lane extending south west to a point outside the driveway for Tucking Mill cottages. USRN: 47917910.
This order is required due to the volume of traffic currently using the road being unsuitable, given the lack of passing places and the steep embankment. The closure will start on 21st February 2025 for up to 2 months or until the A36 at Limpley Stoke is re-opened following road works, whichever is sooner. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.
The closure shall not apply to:
a. Any vehicle associated with emergency services
b. Any vehicles associated with utility companies
c. Any vehicle associated with highway maintenance
d. Any vehicle that requires access to land that can only be accessed from the closed section of Tucking Mill Lane
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Summer Lane – Combe Road – A3062 Bradford Road – B3110 Midford Road – Tucking Mill Lane – Vice versa.
