Individual organisations and agencies will want to determine which staff in groups 2 are required to attend the CAF & LP/TAC training. Child Protection training must be undertaken at regular intervals. For most this will be a minimum of every 3 years; however, staff with designated or lead safeguarding roles should undertake child protection training every 2 years.
Once you log in, click on the relevant button (for example, 'Children's workforce training') which will take you to a page with the categories listed above on. Or, if you know the name of the course, you can use 'course search'. View the course pages to find out more about the course and book a place.
To book a place:
- You need to provide your manager's name and a cost code, or invoicing details (even if the course is free).
- Your manager will then be asked to approve your booking before your place is confirmed.
- If you don’t get an email with your log-in details, you need to register for an account.. If you are a B&NES employee and are not already registered with the Learning Zone, select ‘Create New Account’.
If you work with children and young people in any other capacity, select ‘Third Party Registration’:
- You will need to provide some information about your role and your employer.
- You will also need to provide your email address to receive confirmation emails about your bookings and access your training record. Email addresses that begin with 'info@', 'reception@', 'enquiries@' and so on, are unlikely to be accepted as they are shared email accounts. But you can use your personal email address. Lots of users like this as it allows them to access their training accounts from work, home and mobile devices.
Book an in-house training session with us
We offer two options for training at your early years or childcare setting: in-house training sessions or facilitated staff meetings.
For £150 we will deliver a two-hour training session for up to 15 people (£10 for each additional person) tailored to the needs of your early years or childcare setting. This is an effective way for your team to learn together and to develop a whole team approach to their practice.
Available training sessions include:
- Supporting Language Development
- Making the Most of Maths
- Emotion Coaching – Developing Children’s Self-regulation
- Letters and Sounds
- Child Protection and more!
If you’re a small early years or childcare setting, you could join together with another setting to split the costs.
Time available to meet as a whole team is extremely limited in busy settings, so this is an excellent way to ensure you make the most of it! A member of the Early Years Service can join a staff meeting, led by your setting on your choice of theme, and facilitate a reflective discussion. £60 will buy you up to one and a half hours of support for 12 people (£10 for each additional person).
