We need to look at new ways of getting around the area if we are to reach our target of being carbon neutral by 2030, in order to tackle the current climate and ecological emergency. We also need to regularly review the safety and security of our public spaces, and how our work on travel and transport affects this.
Because not everything can happen overnight, we are establishing a comprehensive and transparent framework of strategies and policies to set out our ambitions, and how we plan to achieve them. We will be consulting on our strategic plans in our Transport Delivery Action Plan for Bath (below), and also have longer-term plans to improve the main routes into the district and how we link rural communities to these from Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire and Bristol - this includes the A4 corridor from Keynsham, as well as the Somer Valley.
These pages show you what we are doing about travel and transport, and how you can have your say on our proposed plans.
