The Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) describes how Bath & North East Somerset’s Children’s Trust Board and other agencies and organisations will provide the best joint approach to delivering services for children and young people. It also sets out the vision and key priorities agreed by those agencies in supporting children and young people to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The Children’s Trust Board was disbanded in June 2016. A new Children and Young People’s sub group of the Health and WellBeing Board has now been established and will oversee the monitoring and reporting on the delivery of the CYPP outcomes during 2016-2017. A new Outcomes Framework will be developed for 2017-2020
The CYPP vision is:-
‘We want all children and young people to enjoy childhood and to be well prepared for adult life.’
The Children Trust Board and Children’s Service within Bath and North East Somerset Council led a significant period of consultation around the priority areas for the plan during 2013. Following this consultation it was agreed that the plan would focus on 3 key priorities for children and young people.
The 3 priorities that have been agreed are:
- Children and young people are safe
- Children and young people are healthy
- Children and young people have equal life chances
The CYPP also sets out all of the strategies, policies and operational delivery that demonstrate how we intend to deliver on these priorities.
