The timeline below shows the lifecycle of the Bath Quays regeneration project.
It includes the current (active) stage and those already completed, as well as expected future stages.

Waterside and flood defence construction
CompleteConstruction of the Bath Quays Waterside development began in early 2016, starting with the diversion of Green Park Road.
This was followed by further works, including:
- Widening and landscaping the north river bank
- Riverside path improvements
- Starting the installation of flood defences along the south river banks
The flood defence works finished in 2018, and the riverside public space opened to the public in December 2018.

Bath Quays South construction works
CompleteConstruction at the Bath Quays South site started in 2018 with the enabling works for the office building and pedestrian bridge.
This was followed by further works, including:
- Refurbishment of a listed building to create a 4,500sqm innovation and digital campus for creative businesses - Newark Works
- A new Grade A, 45,500 sq ft office building - No.1 Bath Quays
- Completion of flood defence and river walls, new public spaces and landscaping

Bath Quays Bridge construction works
CompleteConstruction of the pedestrian and cycling bridge began in 2018.
The bridge opened to the public in December 2022.
Our bridge naming consultation ran from 31 October to 2 December 2022. We will announce the new name of the bridge in 2023.

Bath Quays North preparation works
ActiveBath Quays North covers the former car and coach park on Avon Street. Preparation works and enabling activities at the site started in 2019.
Once completed, the site will offer a blend of office space, retail, residential spaces and a business hotel. The site overlooks the new south-facing waterside park.
The demolition of Avon Street multi-storey car park was completed in 2022.

Bath Quays North construction works
On targetWe anticipate that construction works at the Bath Quays North site will commence in 2024.
