Springfield Park is one of the biggest and best used green spaces in the area, and provides a children’s play area, all-weather sports court, BMX track and picnic facilities. The park is also a great space for community events, such as the annual Foxhill Fete.
This park is well located to serve existing and new communities for a wide range of leisure and recreation uses, but the facilities are now quite dated and in a relatively poor condition. With investment and reconfiguration, the park has the potential to make a significant improvement to the area.

Entrances and paths around the park are in need of improvement, to make them easier to use for prams and buggies, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Signage is old and needs replacing.
Potential improvement
Upgrade and replace old entrances, paths and signage
The current play area is dated and mainly suitable for younger children.
Potential improvement
Enhance the play area with equipment which also offers attractive options for teenagers, and is more accessible for people with disabilities. Use natural features in the partially-wooded, hillside location of the park to encourage more imaginative play, exploration of the whole park site, and engagement with nature
This large space has the potential to offer a wider variety of recreational and sports facilities to the community, and attract new users to the site.
Potential improvement
Install facilities to support outdoor sports and fitness, such as running routes, a fitness trail or an outdoor gym. We'd really like to know which facilities you think would be most popular.
Springfield Park is on a naturally sloping site, with some excellent views. There are some well-established trees here, but there is a lot of potential to make the feel and appearance of the park more natural.
Potential improvement
Plant new meadow areas and additional trees to improve habitats for wildlife and make the park a more interesting and attractive place for visitors to enjoy
