Details

The Bath transport strategy was adopted by the council on
13 November 2014.

The aim is to reduce congestion and allow people to move around to make the long-term economic strategy for the area work. We want to:

  • Support and enable economic growth, competitiveness and jobs
  • Promote sustainable mobility
  • Widen travel choice
  • Widen access to opportunities: jobs / learning / training
  • Improve air quality and health, reducing vehicle carbon emissions
  • Safeguard and enhancing the unique historic environment and World
  • Heritage Site status
  • Improve the quality of life in the city

Key proposals include:

  • developing a walking/cycling strategy to make Bath the UK’s most walkable city;
  • better management of HGVs in the city;
  • continued expansion of Park and Ride sites; and
  • a new location for coaches to park after dropping off visitors in the centre.

The long term vision is to minimise the negative effects of traffic congestion in and around Keynsham and ensuring it retains its independence and its separate identity within an attractive rural setting by becoming a more sustainable, desirable and well-connected place in which to live and work.

Street Naming Order 2021 South Stoke (No. 1) Harrison Down Estate

  1. Bath & North East Somerset Council is the Street Naming Authority for the parish of South Stoke.
  2. The Council has given public notice on site in accordance with Section 18 Public Health Act 1925 of its intention to name eight new streets.
  3. No objections were deposited at Bath Magistrates’ Court in response to the site notice within the prescribed time.
  4. The Council therefore declares that the streets marked on the attached plan are named:
