To meet the increasing pressure on housing supply, we are developing our own supported and social housing through the B&NES Homes programme. Use this page to find out about our projects and how we will market and allocate B&NES Homes.
Social housing
We will market B&NES Homes social housing through our Homesearch website. You can search for properties by using the 'property search' function on the Homesearch website.
We will allocate this social housing in line with our Homesearch Allocation Scheme.
Supported housing
Our Housing Services team will directly allocate B&NES Homes supported housing for Statutory Homeless households.
We will also allocate supported housing through our Housing Support Gateway.

Englishcombe Lane supported housing development
Select a topic below to find out more about our Englishcombe Lane supported housing project.
Our proposal to create 16 supported homes for residents with learning disabilities at Englishcombe Lane is an example of how we are delivering our priority of ‘the right homes in the right places’.
The project will provide high-quality, net-zero modern accommodation and support for members of our community who are sometimes forced to live far away from family and friends due to the lack of such a facility in our area.
The scheme will also result in significant savings in the amount we spend on specialist accommodation outside of Bath and North East Somerset.
We’ve worked closely with the local community as we have developed the scheme. The revised plan takes into account the views of people living near the site while reflecting the site’s ecology.
To find out more about the project, you can access documents related to the approved planning application here.
We anticipate work beginning on site in Summer 2025.
